Every seashell, every piece of art we offer is a conduit to that very experience. It's a chance for our customers to carry a piece of the beach with them, to feel the calming effect of nature's beauty in their home.
Hunting for Your Perfect Seashells
The quest for specialized vases often requires multiple trips to the shore, as finding the ideal seashells is an art. Quality control initiates during the gathering process; only the finest shells earn a place in your vases.
Sanitization and Preservation
Ensuring the pristine condition of each shell is paramount. All shells housing live organisms are preserved. Expired organisms or organic matter is disposed of accordingly.
Initial Inspection & Rinsing
Shells undergo examination before being immersed in our sanitizing solution, eliminating bacteria, viruses, insects, and odors over three days.
Shells are rinsed at a second station, utilizing powerful jets to remove any remaining matter from shells' apertures.
Dislodging Intricate Shells
Some shells, like olives, often conceal others. Delicate extraction techniques are employed, ensuring every hidden seashell is freed before a final inspection and rinsing.
Sun Drying
The shells bask in the Southwest Florida sun for three days, enhancing their natural allure and ensuring complete sanitization.
Careful Sorting
Shells are sorted, shaken and gently tapped to remove any residual sand, and grouped with their families. With numerous 5-gallon buckets, this task demands patience and precision.
Certain shells are treated to achieve a wet appearance. They are sprayed from various angles, applying three coats to achieve the desired effect, giving them a "wet" look.
Artful Placement
Vase design guides the arrangement of seashells, concealing openings to showcase the shells' full beauty.
